More stuff bought for the garage, master cylinder awaits …

Sunday, June 11, 2023 — My parts finally all arrived for replacing my master cylinder, though I’ve not started the job yet.

Saturday I made a trip to Harbor Freight and bought several things for the garage. For example, I need a vise in the garage, so I bought a decent 5 inch vise on sale. I also bought a tool cart, as well as a box of assorted nuts, bolts screws and washers, and a set of inexpensive cresent wrenches. Two of mine rusted up and I’ve not gotten them working. Buying replacements is a lot easier, lol! They’re all rather cheap wrenches anyway.

With my son’s help, we assembled the tool cart as well as a moving dolly he’ll need moving back into the dorm this August.

I have rehab tomorrow afternoon, and I need to secure the vise to the work table tomorrow before I can use it. I also need to make sure I can get the brake line loose. I’ve seen folks on YouTube have problems with that, though nothing a little heat won’t address.

I also recently bought a paint film thickness measuring device. I’m anxious to try it on the Plymouth. There are some areas on the car that have paint that’s checked and appears to be due to excessive film thickness. This will settle the debate. I’m not anxious to strip the car down to bare metal, but I won’t be surprised if I need to do it on the hood and trunk lid. We’ll see.

The Shadetree Mechanic’s Garage has been busy as of late working on family vehicles other than the Plymouth. It will be great to make some progress on the Plymouth.

Until next time ….
