Pre-Christmas parade update …

Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021

The Belvedere is snug in the garage waiting to get prepped for the local Christmas parade on Dec. 3rd. I’m planning to use the same type of small Command strips to string the Christmas lights on the car, along with the two large, lit wreaths on the front and back of the car.

This year I have something new to add — an LED sign that will go in the Plymouth’s rear window.

We had considered having some walkers go along the parade route passing out candy, but no one really wants to commit to doing that. The parade banned throwing candy off floats because kids were running into the street to collect candy.

To power the LED Christmas lights, the wreaths and the sign, I have a 400 watt inverter that I’ll install under the hood. I’ll have to route all the extension cors to the front of the car. I have order another set of Christmas lights, I might be able to double up the lights.

The local Christmas parade is Thursday, Dec. 3 … the following Saturday, the little town of New Haven is having their Christmas parade. Still trying to find more info out about that one.

Once Christmas is over, perhaps I can tackle fixing some of the rust spots on the Plymouth. I’m going to order a quart of midnight blue poly single stage paint, hopefully it will allow me to do some touch up to the original paint. Since I don’t have my shop set up the way I want it, I’m going to try to “get by” with the paint I have on the car.

In the next few days, I hope to complete the electric line drop into the garage. Then I’ll need to wire outlets, but the first outlet will be there by the breaker panel. .

DRIVESHAFT BOOGIE. I need to get a driveshaft ordered for the Plymouth, I’m anxious to put a new one in so I can eliminate the driveshaft vibration.
